Hello,
This is a request under the Access to Information Act.
I am a person present in Canada and entitled to make this request under subsection 4(1) of the Act as extended by the Access to Information Act Extension Order, No. 1.
Period covered: 1 January 2020 to the date this request is processed.
I request the following records.
1. Any assessment of the reliability, legal enforceability, or durability of assurances given by any allied state to defend Canada against nuclear attack
2. Any analysis, cost estimate, feasibility study, or option paper concerning an independent Canadian nuclear deterrent, or concerning Canadian nuclear latency or a recessed deterrent capability
3. Any briefing note prepared for the Minister addressing Canada's options if extended nuclear deterrence provided by an allied state were withdrawn, conditioned, or reduced
4. Any record concerning the nuclear certification status of aircraft acquired or to be acquired by Canada
Please limit the search to briefing notes, memoranda to the Minister, option papers, assessments and analyses. Please exclude media monitoring and news clippings.
If no records responsive to any numbered item exist, I request that your response state that expressly, item by item.
I request a waiver of the application fee under subsection 11(6) of the Act. I receive social assistance under the Ontario Works Act and have no discretionary income. If the waiver is refused, tell me how to pay and I will pay the fee. If it is refused, I request the reasons in writing together with the criteria applied.
I prefer to receive records electronically.
Respectfully,
