Brief for the study "Supporting, Diversifying, and Modernizing Quebec and Canada's Ports": the western shore of Hudson Bay, one port with rail and no wharf north of it

Hello,

The brief follows below. It is submitted to the study "Supporting, Diversifying, and Modernizing Quebec and Canada's Ports", which the Committee suspended at meeting 30 on 20 April 2026.

The brief concerns the ports of the western shore of Hudson Bay. Churchill is the one Arctic seaport of Canada with a railway. North of it, Arviat and Rankin Inlet unload their barges on the beach. The Government of Canada recorded the need for harbours there in November 2005.

Distribute the brief to the members of the Committee before the study resumes.

Confirm in writing, by 14 October 2026, the date of distribution to the members and the date of publication on the page of the study.

Respectfully,
Danilo Dzyuban
