The brief follows below. It concerns section 12 of the Defence Investment Agency Act, enacted by clause 290 of Bill C-31, which stands referred to the Committee.
Section 12 lists five considerations that bind the Minister. The location of production is absent from the list. The brief sets out one amendment to section 12 and one to clause 337.
The same brief went to the Standing Senate Committee on National Security, Defence and Veterans Affairs on 30 September 2026 and to the Standing Senate Committee on National Finance for its meetings of 6 and 7 October 2026.
Distribute the brief to the members of the Committee before clause-by-clause consideration of Division 16 of Part 4.
Confirm in writing, by 14 October 2026, the date of distribution to the members and the date of publication on the page of the Committee.
